Patient Resources

Our goal is to make sure we offer our patients the best treatment, the most orthodontic options, the latest technologies and techniques and the highest degree of comfort and enjoyment.

We are always excited about meeting new patients during their first visit to our office.

We are always excited about meeting new patients during their first visit to our office. Your initial appointment will consist of a thorough examination and a discussion of potential treatment options. This important 40 to 50 minute visit will give us insight into your orthodontic needs. Two digital X-rays will be taken at this first appointment that Dr. Barlow uses to accurately diagnose and treatment plan. During the initial examination for each patient, we will address the following questions that cover the basics of orthodontic treatment. We encourage you to ask questions as well.

After this initial discussion about your orthodontic needs, we will schedule a records appointment to complete financial paperwork, shoot digital photos and gather dental impressions.

Is there a problem that orthodontics can address?

Is treatment needed now?

What treatment options are there to correct the problem?

How long will treatment take?

Do any permanent teeth need to be removed?

How much will it cost and what are my payment options?

What to Do in Case of Emergency

Call our office as soon as possible if you break or loosen any of your appliances. Please do not come directly to the office – by calling us, you will allow us to create a time to see you. Even if you have a regular appointment scheduled, call us immediately to notify us if you need an appliance repaired. For a true emergency (a broken appliance causing severe discomfort or pain) please call our after-hours emergency line (the number is found on our office voice mail). For a slight discomfort that wax can solve (slightly poking wire), please call our office during normal business hours to schedule a repair.
